Banana Peanut Butter Ice Cream Only Two-Ingredients

Banana Peanut Butter

Two of my very favorite things to eat in a combo is Banana and Peanut Butter!!  You know that when I came across this awesome recipe I had to try and of course share it! Check out how to make your own Banana Peanut Butter Ice cream below!

What You Need:

Frozen Bananas

Peanut Butter

What You Do:

1. Take 4 RIPE bananas and slice the.  Put them on a large plate. Freeze the bananas for about 2 hours.

2. Put the frozen banana into a  blender. If you don’t have a super powerful blender, use a food processor. The blender or food processor needs to be powerful to puree the frozen banana slices.

3. Puree banana slices, scraping down the bowl as needed. Puree until the mixture is creamy and smooth. Add the peanut butter and puree to combine. Serve immediately for soft-serve ice cream consistency. If you prefer harder ice cream, place in the freezer for a few hours and then serve.

Luckily it is easy to make and it tastes delicious! We have been trying to eat less processed food and more natural ingredients. That leaves no room salad dressing. We opt to use this Strawberry Jam Recipe below and also  add a little balsamic to our salad and it is delicious.Adding gelatin to the recipe allows you to quickly thicken the mixture (and get some gelatin in your diet). If you do not have gelatin or do not want to use it, you can just leave it out and cook the mixture down until it thickens on its own.

Inactive: 2 hours                        Yield: 1 1/4 cups

What You Need For This Strawberry Jam Recipe

– Small saucepan
– Stirring spoon
– Potato masher or whisk
– Measuring spoon
– Sealable Jar (for storing jam)

1. Chop the tops off of the strawberries and discard them, then slice the strawberries in half. Put the strawberries, lemon juice and raw honey in a small saucepan and place over medium-high heat.

3.  If not using gelatin: Reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer, stirring occasionally, for another 20-30 minutes or until desired thickness is reached.
If using gelatin: Remove the pan from the heat, add the gelatin and stir until well combined.

4. Transfer the mixture to a jar and allow the cool for about 15-20 minutes. Place the lid on the jar and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

Note: Because this jam does not contain preservatives, it will last about one week in the refrigerator.

Chocolate Lover’s Dream Cake

mainpic copy

It is safe to say that after making and eating this cake this weekend I am definitely in a “chocolate coma.”  We celebrated my husband’s birthday this past weekend and he is the ULTIMATE chocolate lover.  He would never have a dessert that wasn’t chocolate because “that is just a waste of a dessert.”  So, I decided to bring all his favorite chocolates together and make this decadent cake.  He (and I) absolutely loved it and he has already proclaimed that he wants this cake for every Birthday going forward.  If you are ready to have your mind blown… make this cake!  It is not that hard either.

You will need:

1 Package of decadent Chocolate fudge cake mix (and the ingredients listed on the box to make the cake)- this make mix makes it fudgey and gooey on the inside too!

1 container chocolate fudge frosting (I thought I might need 2, so you will see that in the picture, but 1 was enough)

1 package chocolate chips

12 miniture candy bars (I like to use milky way, snickers, and twix)

1. Preheat oven to 350 Degrees and make cake according to directions, Split cake mix into 2 8 inch round cake pans and bake for 28 minutes.  Allow to cool completely

2. Once cake is completely cooled, dump one cake onto your cake place (flat side up) and frost the top and sprinkle with chocolate chips.  Then place the other round cake on top (flat side down) and frost entire cake (top and sides) until you do not see the cake showing through

3. Take handfuls of chocolate chips and press them against the side of the cake until the entire side is covered in chocolate chips

4. Cut up Candy Bars and place on top of cake to fully cover the top, then melt 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in microwave (about 1 minute stirring every 20 seconds) and drizzle over cake.

I hope you enjoy this cake!  Let me know your thoughts when you make it, because I know your mind will be blown!

Cookies and Cream Candy Bars

Cookies and Cream Candy Bars

This 4 ingredient treat is so easy to make and just as delicious (or more so) than a store bought bar.  Cookies and cream is such a delightful combination.  I love the lightness of it.  It is not as rich as many of my other favorite combos, but that makes eating these all up in one sitting very easy.  I just love a homemade candy bar that I can keep in the fridge and break off pieces at a time- just enough to satisfy my sweet tooth.  Or to give the kids as a little treat after dinner.  You can control how much or how little you want at a time (well you can TRY to control it)! You can have your own cookies and cream candy bars made in minutes and ready after just sitting in the fridge for 30 minutes.

You will need:

1 12 oz. White Chips

1 teaspoon shortenting

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 row of Oreos (10)

1. In a microwave safe bowl, combine white chips and shortening.  Heat in 20 second intervals stirring every 20 seconds until fully melted. Add vanilla and stir

2. Put Oreos in a zip loc bag and crush (but not completely, leave some larger peices) and mix these into the melted chocolate

3. Line an 8×8 casserole dish with parchment paper and pour in chocolate mixture and spread out evenly

4. Refrigerate for 3 minutes.  Then pick up parchment paper and cookies and cream bar and set on counter.  Use a knife to cut into segments.
